Window frosting for a Capitol Hill dining room
Inner-city NW Calgary lots sit close together, and this dining area looked directly at the neighbouring house. The homeowners wanted to stop feeling watched at the table without adding blinds or losing the daylight the narrow window set brings into the room.

Project challenge
The windows are tall and narrow, so any misalignment or edge gap would be obvious against the frames. The film had to deliver 24-hour privacy — reflective films lose their effect at night when interior lights come on — and it had to read as a clean, intentional finish from both sides of the glass.
Our solution
Frosted window frosting was cut to each pane with tight, even edge margins and installed after full glass prep. Frosted film works day and night, so the dining table stays private after dark, and the matte finish softens the incoming light instead of blocking it.

Before and after
The before photo shows the direct sightline into the dining area; the after photo shows the same glass with the frosted finish installed.

Glass review
Each pane was checked for surface condition and measured individually — narrow panes magnify any cutting error, so per-pane templating mattered here.
Installation focus
Consistent frost density across the set and clean, even edge reveals so the film reads as a factory finish rather than an add-on.
Result
Full-time privacy at the dining table, no blinds or curtains added, and the room keeps its natural light through the day.
