A designer's spec, hung to the designer's schedule

DWK Interiors, a Calgary interior design firm, came to Wall Style Innovations on the strength of an earlier project with one of their designers. The brief was one long back wall in the basement of an Altadore home: 324 inches wide and 103 inches high, running from the two basement windows all the way to the wet bar.

The paper was the designer's choice: JF Fabrics 8253-33 from the Avalon collection, an art deco-inspired geometric printed in beige, peach, cream and mink on a textured ground. Alla hung all 12 drops on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in about eight hours, so the furniture could be delivered the next morning as planned.

Project challenge

A 27 ft wall in a pattern with a 25.2 in repeat leaves no room for a short order: running out mid-wall means waiting for more rolls, and a second order can come from a different production lot with a visible colour shift. The wall also had two window openings to cut around and a wet bar to finish against at the far end.

Installed solution

Before anything was ordered, WSI worked out the drop count from the wall size and the repeat: 12 drops, a minimum of four double rolls, plus a margin for contingency and future repairs. We explained that margin to the designer in writing and offered to report exactly what was left after the install, so the decision on the spare rolls stayed with the designer. DWK Interiors ordered six double rolls from one lot, and the wall went up in a single day with no reorder.

Ordered once, from one lot

12 drops calculated from the 324 in width and the 25.2 in repeat, with the contingency explained upfront: no mid-job reorder, no lot mismatch.
